Well....we all survived! What fun it was to celebrate 20 years of living life without being in 'school'. We had approximately 40 classmates that made time out of their busy lives to come back to Claydell and celebrate Piotique and come to our reunion. For those of you who were not able to make it, we all missed you. For those of you that just didn't want to come, we hope you'll join us next time when we celebrate 25 yrs of being 'prison' free! ;) I'm not sure who came the farthest, but I'm guessing it might have been Cheri'. We also decided to open up an account for the class of 1991 and for our next reunion in 2016 we'll probably charge a flat rate of $25 per person. Our class has NO money saved up and we've already had 3 persons pass from our class and we were unable to send flowers from our class. It was figured that if you saved $10 per year for the next five years, you could afford to come. That actually breaks down to just pennies a day ya all. ($0.027). I know there might be some grumbling about that amount, but really we need to have some money so we can plan better and not have people putting money up front when trying to get supplies etc. I mean we all want to celebrate in style don't we?
There were several photos taken that night and we hope to set up an account on line that everyone can post their pics to and then order whatever pics you want. We'll just share the password somehow. Carrie Stenzel Lane's husband JD took over 200 pics from the weekend. Hopefully we'll get those posted somewhere soon so anybody can look at them.
**update**
Overall a good time was had (more for some) lol by all for several nights in a row. All you that missed out on the float decorating missed several evenings of casual hanging out. The float was awesome and many many THANKS to Darian Callaway and his wife Kerri for the ideas and creativity. Friday night seemed to be a successful night. It seems that many stayed out really late and were very tired for the parade the next day. :) Nothing like shutting those bars down like old times eh? Saturday was filled with many activities including the wonderful dinner. Sunday late morning several classmates met at the new park and brought their precious little ones for everyone to oogle over. I think several were still in bed trying to recover from Friday and Saturday night. We aren't spring chickens anymore are we?? I even had to take a few good friends of mine home Saturday night, but I won't mention any names Tonya and Kristen. Oops. I didn't mean to do that. ;)
So everyone start saving those pennies and put them in a jar and by the time 5 years passes by, you'll already have that darn dinner paid for. Just sayin'. :)
I'll post more about the pics when I find out where they are.....later.
